Connection to a SAP Hana database.

Hello,

I have an Cloud Hana Database for my BI application. We connect the local machine to the Cloud enviroment via Eclipse IDE.

Everyday, on load processing to the BI Application, the connection fails, and I have to close Eclipse and reopen it.

I wish to know if there is a way to configure an ODBC connection directly to Hana, without having to use Eclipse.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi, Lucca,

You can use the ODBC drivers to connect to HANA building your own client or use other alternatives to HANA Studio. If you could clarify what you are trying to achieve I may be able to point to another option.

Best,

Lucia.

Hi Lucia, thanks for the help!

We configured a ODBC in the BI application machine, and this ODBC connection only works when Eclipse IDE is open.

So the system flows like that:

Hana Cloud -> ODBC (Eclipse) - > QlikView

When trying to reload a Qlik Dashboard, sometimes we get the message that the connection to Hana is lost, so we close Eclipse and reopen it so it can work.

I tryed to understand how to bypass Eclipse connection, but no success.

On Eclipse, we configured the patch for SAP Hana Cloud Management.

Thanks for the details Lucca. I don't use the Qlikview plugin so can't help here...
