Some questions about Diagnostics Agent

Hi there,

currently I decide to install the Diagnostics Agent on EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01, AIX 64 Bit.

The Solution Manager is already configured, e.g. intial configuration, basic configuration, landscape configuration and so on ... I think it will be okay.

But now I have some questions, I think they will be easy for you:

1. The requirement for the installation (chapter 2.5) are 500 MB for common libraries and 500 MB by Diagnostics Agent. But in which directory? /usr/sap/?

2. In chapter 2.4.2 is written, that I should extract the sar-file of Diagnostics Agent. If I extract it, where ist the target of the files? The same directory? Or /usr/sap/<dasid>/...?

3. In the Setup Guide (https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000952852009E) is in chapter 2.4.1 written, that I have to download the SAP NetWeaver 7.1 EHP1 DVD ... but there is no reason. Can anybody explain it?

4. Is the installation file DIAGNOSTICSAGENT711_0-20005919.SAR SP00 for DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.11 for EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01, AIX 64 Bit the right one?

Answer => Yes

2. In chapter 2.4.2 is written, that I should extract the sar-file of Diagnostics Agent. If I extract it, where ist the target of the files? The same directory? Or /usr/sap/<dasid>/...?

Answer => It doesn't matter where you'll extract the files, you'll run the sapinst that will install correctly the SMD Instance in /usr/sap/<SMDSID>

Answer => It doesn't matter the version of the Netweaver of the Managed Systems, but the version of the Solution Manager. Check page 4 of pdf attached in note 1368413

SAP recommends Diagnostics agent 7.20 because it already deliver Saphostagent. If you install agent 7.11, you'll need install separetely the saphostagent. In this moment you'll need use the Netweaver CE DVD's to install version 7.20 because the Diagnostics agent 7.20 DVD's are not visible in SMP yet.

4. Is the installation file DIAGNOSTICSAGENT711_0-20005919.SAR SP00 for DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.11 for EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01, AIX 64 Bit the right one?

Answer => DIAGNOSTICSAGENT711_0-20005957.SAR SP00 for DIAGNOSTICS AGENT 7.11
