Campaigns - Action Send Email does not work after the Trigger "Email Opend"

Hello All,

we have a problem with triggerbased campaigns.

We created a Campaign like the following one.

The first Action Email Sending works correct but then after the trigger event and after we have waited one day, the second Email Sending Event does not work. No Emails will be sent.

Has anyone an idea what the problem could be?

Thanks!

BR,

Caro

  • Dear Caro,

Could you please share more details about your Custom Action and what is the purpose of having a custom one ?

    Also, which Marketing Release- Cloud/On-Prem?

  • Thanks for your answer.

We use the On-Premis Version 1809.

Now i´m a bit confused because i think the trigger and the event that we use is not an Custom Action?

We just wanted to send an Email and check then if the recipient's opened the email or not. All people who don´t open our email should receive an another one after one day. But after one day the e-mail was not sent to the people who did not open the e-mail.

    BR,

    Caro

    Hi Carolin Stoecker ,

For on-premise systems, I would check the following:

    1) You always need to make sure that you allow downloading pictures while you're viewing the e-mail. The reason behind this action is explained in accepted answer for a question that was raised again by you -> SAP marketing e-mail tracking, tracking open e-mails

    2) The entries maintained in the table HTTPURLLOC with SORT_KEY = TRCK are really important. The domain and port number you have in that table should be accessible by public. If it really points to your on-premise servers, opened e-mail as well as click-through tracking won't work (BASIS consultants normally leave the entries as just on-premise system server IP numbers, so I really suggest you to check entries)

    Hi Hakan Köse ,

    thanks for you answer.

Email tracking is not our problem at the moment. Our problem is that the emails are not sent at all. But just after the trigger "Email opend".

    Kind Regards,

That is pretty much core functionality that should be working "out of the box". There might be essential background job missing that is monitoring pending campaigns, but I am afraid I won't be able to tell you straight away, which one it is. CUAN_MKT_EXEC_LISTENER maybe?

    Hi Carolin Stoecker ,

Maris Sauka is right. You should be checking Campaign Management configuration on technical cockpit. Go to transaction CUAN_TC_CHECK and check if "Campaign Management" is properly set up. Configuring "Campaign Management" properly schedules listening job automatically in the background.

You can check it manually using transaction SM37 as well.

    Kind Regards,
