Upgrading from 4.6c to ECC6.0 Unicode conversion.

Hi all, as part of the upgrade , i am one of the users and understand that there is a 'unicode conversion' part for a lot of programs and reports.

i would like to ask what constitutes these changes, more importantly are these efforts huge? Seems like the vendor is using this as an excuse to charge exorbitant fees for these conversion.
