Availability check while issuing materials to production order

Hello

We have in-house manufacturing item in Project ( say 50 MVA Power transformer Hm). This is finished product which will be delivered to customer via delivery through project or sale order. It may please be noted that this is project specific material i.e. individual requirement.

We need 10 Components i.e. M1,M2,M3u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026M10 to produce this header level i.e. finished product. These are included in BOM of Header level Material i.e. Hm. It may please be noted that components are meant collective requirement i.e. may be maintained for plant stock.

We have created WBS A in our project structure.

The manufacturing cost of this in-house manufacturing item is X.

This WBS A have plan cost of X and budget also equivalent to X which is nothing but the manufacturing cost of material Hm.

We are assigning header level material to one of activity which is assigned to WBS A . This is generating reservation for material Hm

We are running MRP and converting planned order into production order. Let us assume that all the components are available in the plant stock. The production order is released to take up manufacturing.

When we are trying to issue material to this production order system is giving error message saying budget exceeded ( by the amount equivalent to material under issue i.e. when we are issuing material M1 to production order, system will say budget exceeded by value of component of M1 and so on.)

I need help to fix this error as budget availability should be checked while opening the production order and issuing material to WBSS.

Thanks and best regards

Bharat Parikh

You have mentioned that you have maintained planned cost/Budget equivalent only to manufaturing cost of FG and You have not included the Child Components cost in the Budget, so the error is issued during material issue to production order. Add the cost of components to Budget, you wont get any error.

Hi,

Thanks for feedback but I have very clearly mentioned that header level material cost is includive of component cost.

Thanks and regards

You have mentioned as "Manufacturing Cost" in your earlier post and I consider that it didnt include component cost and it will be helpful if you mention values of your budget, plan cost, assigned cost, component etc. ,
