User Status to trigger email

Is there a way to have User Status in Work Notification trigger email if selected.

For example we create a "Rejected" status, If manager decided to reject a Work Notification the creater of the WN will be notified by email.

(Note:We are not utilizing the Work FLow..we are using user status as our process.)

You need to have go for combination of User status Functionality and Enhancement by using User Exit on Save -

when Set User Status-->01 it will call the above user exit will not allow the user to release the Notification.

also You have to use the User ICRP0201 Search Help CS_ORG_02: Authorization Check for releasing the Notification

Yes, it is posible.You will have to custom develop the same. You could consider using the User exit on SAVE to trigger this email or develop a separate workflow for the same.
