rfc connection problem

I have an external hard drive that contains ECC6 and BI7 whose installation has been made in India, the person who installs confirmed to me that the connection rfc external hard drive is not possible. I want to replicate data ECC6 to BI7. I checked all source systems to see if there was one that was configured, unfortunately not. . Is this possible on external hard drive? if so, how to solve the problem of connection rfc on external hard drive?
