Solution Manager and BusinessObjects BI

Hello experts,

I'm about to integrate SAP BusinessObjects and SAP Solution Manager and I would like to know if there's anything specific that has been done because of SolMan or it is just like when connecting to the SAP ERP (import the transports and assign CRYSTAL_ENTITLEMENT and CRYSTAL_DESIGNER roles to an user).

For the first moment we'll just create an Xcelsuis dashboard based on a table in SolMan.

Thanks in advance,

Carlos Henrique Matos da Silva - SAP BusinessObjects BI - Brazil.

Hi

take a look at these notes:

1388247 Solution Manager: Managed System Setup for SAP Business Objects Explorer

1357901 Solution Manager: Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise

Hello Ingo,

thanks for the quick answer.

When I try to access those notes it says "The requested SAP Note is either in reworking or is released internally only".

Is there any other way to access it?

Thanks,

Hi,

would suggest you then open a case with support to receive the 2 notes

Hello Ingo,

I opened a case with SAP and they have already released the 1357901 one.

The other one might be released soon.

For now I just want to create a dashboard in Xcelsius that will have a Crystal Reports behind it which will bring information from a "Z" table in SolMan, that was the reason I asked if the process was similar to when connecting to the ERP (install the transports, to have an user with SAP_ALL assigned to it, and assign CYRSTAL_ENTITLEMENT and CRYSTAL_DESIGNER to it).

Is it needed to do the process of note 1357901 (Root Cause Analysis) to do that?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Carlos,

so it is not about how to actually integrate into Solution manager as a tool but instead just reporting on top of the data.

correct - the process is identical to the connectivity to your ERP system
