Hello
We do have a requirement where if an employee worked on a Holiday we need to entitle the employee with 1 day of time off absence quota for working on a holiday.
We use time evaluation with out clock time, a schema customized from TM04. We also currently generate other absence quota types in time evaluation.
The tricky thing with the new time off quota is. its valid for 1 year from the day of the holiday employee worked.
For example:
If an employee worked on a January 1st holiday (1/1/2010), then the quota should be valid form 1/1/2010 to 12/31/2010 and if the employee worked again on Independence day (7/5/2010), the quota entitled on this day should be valid from 7/5/2010 thru 7/4/2011.
I am aware of how to set this up if all have similar validity end date. But here every quota day accrued will have a different validity start end date depending on which holiday in the year the employee worked.
Can some one provide any input on how this can be handled.
Should i have a separate absence quota type for each Holiday worked (for example New year comp off, Independence day comp off) or can i stil manage it with one single quota type?
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Once I came ascross similar requirement, but not for 1 year. It was quota generation as a result of work on public holiday that had to be valid for 3 month. Obviously different employees had different validity start and end date.
I did a custom function to address this requirements, but at the end of the day it complicated whole set up. So got rid of the idea of custom function.
The solution was to create separate quota for every month. In your case it would be as following:
1. Create 12 quotas with validity of one year.
2. When employee has overtime on public holiday generate Q1.
3. In the end of the month transfer quota Q1 to Q2, or Q2 to Q3, ... , Q11 to Q12.
4. When quota is Q12 then compensate it or delete it - depends on your requirements.
Cheers!

this is very strange requirement ie validity.
I would recommend to have all accrued quota days to have a single validity interval
and accumulate in this or try to use time wage types ie balances and transfer to the quota
from SALDO etc

We do have 7 to 9 Holidays pr year depending on the grouping. Yes my option now is to create a separate quota for every Holiday. But i am wondering if there is a way to make one quota type work for quotas generated in a calendar year instead of creating separate quota for every holiday where i will end up creating 7 to 9 new quota types. I hate doing that, but if no other option left i will have to end up to it.
Thanks for your time.

How many Holidays do you have in a year where this would be applicable?
Could you create as many Quotas as Holidays?
