Custom SIS structure not updating after adding new statistics

We have a custom SIS structure and recently updated statistics group for header and item was updated to include a new sales area. Existing sales area (sales org, distr. channel and division) entry was copied the only difference was the sales org. The updates should occur for billing document. There are requirements associated with key figures but nothing restricts the sales org. When I run the update check for existing billing document that works the info structures selected are not the same as the ones selected for the new sales area. I get no errors of any sort so it is not obvious what is preventing the update. I have activated everything I could find to activate and no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did not get what you mean when you say " When I run the update check for existing billing document that works the info structures selected are not the same as the ones selected for the new sales area".

Any ways did you run the following checks: IMG Activities?:

Check Assignment of Update Groups at Header Level- MCVCHECK02 for the required Billing type

Check Assignment of Update Groups at Item Level- MCVCHECK03 for the required item cats

Also question, is it a new, custom infostructure or it is an existing one which you are trying to use for a new sales area?

Hi,

This is an existing custom info structure and a new sales area was added to the statistics group for both header and document. The update check mentioned is on the img under update check/simulate update, or t-code MCVV. Enter the billing document number and it shows all the info structures accessed and when updates occurred and an analysis is also presented. When i enter a document for an existing sales area the info structure list includes the custom structure and a list of other structures that were checked/updated. I enter document for new sales area and the structure I expected to see listed is not checked.

Got it..

When you run MCVV with the billing doc for the new sales area, you do not see the Structure number listed there at all or you see it listed but not updated (check mark against column U) ?

In the results screen ( Update log), did you click on the analysis and details tabs to see if you get any hints?

I suspect something may be wrong with the update group config.

So did you execute those 2 checks MCVCHECK02 and MCVCHECK03? They will tell you any issues with Header and Item update groups.

Also check if there are any problems with update rules- MC26- for your infostructure and stat Upd Group.

Since I am looking at existing docuemnts do I need to run an update of statistical data to capture these old documents?

If these were pre-existing documents and you changed the config mid-stream, then yes.

I thought you were talking about new documents created after the config change!!!
