If this question has been ask before, my appologies but I couldn't find it.
And I'm a total beginner with bex(and on this forum) so if I use a term wrong or it's called something different do not hesitate and correct me 😉
I have a crystal report on a bex query where next to the selecting parameters these same fields are also available as free characteristics.
As you can't select parameter description to be shown in a report, only technical names, I was thinking of the possibility how to use the info in the free characteristics to display an attribute(correct term?) of the free characteristic that like name.
I have parameter on country with countries:
..tecnical name codeA description Aaa
..tecnical name codeB description Bbb
..tecnical name codeC description Ccc
Next to that there is the free characteristic country, that has the technical name and decription as attributes available
I select Country Aaa, this results in my parameter having codeA, but I want Aaa in my report.
Can I somehow go through my free characteristics country list and get the name that belongs to codeA?
I was thinking on the line of formulas and arrays but I can't get it to work.
Any suggestions would be grealty appreciated.
