Error-AA405: Area 41 for posting investment support to asset does not exist

Hi,

Can somebody help me in understandung why this error is prompted by SAP?

"Area 41 for posting investment support to asset does not exist"

Message no. AA405

Diagnosis

It is specified in the Customizing definition of the subsidy key, that this is the area to be posted to.

This depreciaton area does not, however, exist in the the current chart of depreciation.

Procedure

Define the depreciation area.

We have the depreciation Area 41 already defined and assigned to the asset class. But when the user tries to post through t-code ABIF, he gets the above error message.

Hi Mike,

error AA405 says for this asset, dep.area 41 doesn't exist yet, and this is due to the fact that no investment support key has been entered for this asset. Once you enter this key, inv.support area 41 will be defaulted in the asset master data. Not before, even if the area already exists.

(Somethimes you have to change the screen layout rule for this asset in order to change field 'investment support measure' to be Optional).
