Hi,

I have a master data infoobject that is compounded. It contains both "document number" and "item". I have loaded the data to it.now I need to use it in the transformation of a cube. I am unable to pass value for both "document number"and "item". I have passed the value of "document number" only but in the transformation i have "item" too.

Will it affect my data in master data as to load data i need to update both the keys(document number and item).

Example - 0matplant master data is compounded with material and plant, in master data load both are updated. But in transaction load if We link matplant with material alone is that fine , provided plant is also mapped with plant in the transformation?

Hi There,

Let's imagine three infoObjects: ZDOC , ZITEM, and ZDOCITEM which has ZDOC has the superior object.

The ZDOC SIDs (surrogate keys) will be the same for ZDOC and ZDOCITEM, but are completely different and unrelated for ZITEM and ZDOCITEM.

This will allow you to use BW formulas like Master Data Lookup on ZDOC , but not ZDOCITEM when only ZDOC and ZITEM are found in the source.

Consider inserting an InfoSource in the data flow, mapping ZDOC and ZITEM to ZDOC , ZITEM, and ZDOCITEM.

In the transformation following the InfoSource, you may use BW formulas like Master Data Lookup on ZDOCITEM.
