Crystal Reports 2008 and Microsoft ODBC for Oracle connection issues

Currently we have Crystal Reports XI and Business Objects XI on another server working fine.

Basically we're looking to upgrade so I have recently donwloaded a copy of Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 and Business Objects 3.1, which is set up on a test server at the moment which is running on Windows Server 2003.

I have copied some of my reports from XI to 3.1 and also created my ODBC drivers which are the same as per my previous Install above, although when i try to connect to my data source via 'Microsoft ODBC for Oracle' in Crystal Reports 2008 i get the following errors:

Database Connector Error: 'NA000:[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]'

Database Connector Error: 'IM006:[Micorsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr Failed'

Logon Failed. Details: 01000:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The driver doesn't support the version of the ODBC behaviour that the application requested(see SQLSetEnvAttr).

The only difference i can see is that my XI server uses Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle 2.576.1830.00 and my new server uses Microsoft OBDC driver for Oracle 2.576.3959.00.

Although i can get a connection to my database using the Oracle in Oracle driver but this would cause me an issue if i was to switch over cause i would have to change all users connections.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Chris

Don't use Mirosoft's ODBC driver. They have not updated it to support never versions of Oracle. 7 is the last time and only support they do.

Download DataDirect's ODBC drivers from our download page, search here for links also, or use Oracles ODBC driver.

Thank you
