Looking a few confirmations from experts:
We are migrating from ECC EHP4 to SoH, is it mandatory to migrate classic GL to New GL? Can you please provide some SAP notes to support this statement.

No, it is not required to do this. We migrated last year from ECC EHP8 to SoH and we are still using classic GL. Good luck
