Hi everybody,
Can anyone let me know how to create a version for transport package.
Regards.
Subrat
Hello
You can achieve this in the Systems Administration role, you need to get that in the user first.
1. you need to create a new transport package in your folder.
2. once created open the transport package in the export mode of the system administration tab-->transport
3.once transport packet opened, add all the objects you want to include in the package by right clicking in the navigator and selecting "Add to transport package."
4. Once added all the objects, click export button
5. then you get a report, from there you can download it to the local file system as a .ear file
Hope this helps.

Hi Subrat ,
Just a small correction in Senon's post . Exporting the contents of a transport package creates a .epa file( enterprise portal archive) . As far as versioning goes , i dont think thats possible as of now . In the same package you may remove the existing contents and add new ones . That wont change its id or version (which actually does not exist) .

Subrat,
in the current Portal version this is not possible. A transport package only creates references to the PCD objects. If the PCD objects gets modified, the transport package will use the new version.
I've heard that the new Portal (7.3) will offer a smarter transport mechanism (transport / smart folder) that offers superior functionality.
Until then, you can use the solution Senon provided or you use CTS. With CTS, the transport package will get transmitted to your TMS server and saved there. As you will have a central list of transports, you can always obtain the "old" transport package.
