How is Core web security and BOXI integrated

Core web security (CWS) is a security application that allows the authenticated user the relevant access to the required web-based applications. It secures applications across both the intranet and the internet.

I want to know how is CWS integrated or synchronised with BOXI. For e.g a user has a network i.d ABC and password XYZ, does it mean we have to create same credentials in CMC also. I am not clear over this concept. Could anyone please help.

Hello,

you can use multiple authentication methods in BOE. These are WindowsNT, LDAP, WindowsAD, Trusted Authentication and SAP.

So f.e. you could use your WindowsAD Accounts for authentication and authorization. So your users can "re- use" their Windows Accounts.

Hope this answers your Question.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the response, I am confused about setting up rights for the users in CMC. If users login through their windows account or a sigle sign-on authentication, how can I set up theirs BO rights and restrictions. Really apprecite your help.

Thanks,

Hi,

with regards to WinAD Authentication you have to import Groups before the users are able to log on. A user who should have access to BO need to be in a mapped group.

You grant access to folders, universes etc. with these groups after you imported them.

Check the Admin Guide, chapter 13 about 3th party authentication.
