Cost center and Profit center enhancment

i need your help to find the soultion for this business scenario, here business scenario is my clint want to maintain new cost center and profit centers. they want to replace old cost center with new cost center and as well profit center also.

what is the best procedure for this business scenario and what we need to do with existing value in profit center and cost center before assigning new cost center's and new profit centers,
