Maintenance plan

Hi,

I have created a list of maintenance items using tcode ip04; while iam trying to create the maintenance plan(ip41) the maintenance item field is greyed out in that screen.

could you please let me know how do I incorporate these maintenance items while creating a maintenance plan.?
