How to setup warehouse layout for 3PL location

Hi ,

we have got the requirement in which we need to set the warehouse layout like quality , hold , expired , repair etc.

for a 3PL warehouse . I was trying to create the layout for the warehouse ID but button is greyed out and I believe its not possible to create the same for 3PL warehouse.

Can someone suggest that how we have solution this requirement.

Dear Ashish,

There is no option to set up child LOA layout in a 3PL warehouse. Companies use 3PL warehouse majorly for one purpose, to manage their stock. This means that the company does not have to worry about the layout of the warehouse, where the product is kept etc. All of the stock management and warehouse management task will be taken care by the 3PL warehouse provider.

So from a company point of view, all you have to do is create a site and mark it as externally managed. The warehouse layout etc should be and will be take care by the warehouse provider. This is why setting up of child logistics area etc, material flow rules etc are not available in a 3PL warehouse.

How comfortable is to use Identified Stock in 3PL setup ?

Dear Ashish,

You can use identified stock and serial numbers in 3PL that should not be an issue. However, there is no option to set up LOA in a 3PL warehouse from your end. Your warehouse provider will take care of the same at their end.
