workflow

hi all. I am new to this site. my boss asked me to find out some information regarding workflow capability for SAP or Enterprise Content Management. Can anyone direct me to any useful whitepapers or reference documents that provides a solid overview of process? Specifically, I am trying to find information on how approvals are handled and how forms are processed in the system using workflow.
