EHP1 upgrade from NW7.0 SP16

Dear All,

I would like some clarification on this issue.. We are planning to upgrade Netweaver AS Java 7.0 SPS16, usage type EP and EP Core to EHP1 latest service pack.

I know I can download the delta patches and use JSPM to upgrade. Is this the supported method by SAP or are we supposed to use EHP Installer?

I know EHP installer provides benefits for an AS ABAP system where it minimizes the downtime installing a shadow system, but apparently it uses just a deploy for AS Java.

Or are both methods supported?
