f-40 :Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled

Hi ,

When i am trying to post one invoice in f-40 below error message is coming

Balancing field "Profit Center" in line item 001 not filled

Message no. GLT2201

Diagnosis

The field Profit Center marked as balancing is not filled with any value in line item 001, even after document splitting.

kindly give me any solution for rectifying the above error.

Have you enabled 'Inheritance' in Document splitting? If not you have to do that in here.

IMG->FA(New)->GLA(New)->Business transactions->Document Splitting->Activate Document Splitting

Go to the below path:-

SPRO > Financial Accounting (New) > General Ledger Accounting (New) > Business Transactions > Document Splitting > Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting

And check whether the G/L account of your line item 1 is assigned to an item category here.

I checked , item category is assigned for that particular g/l account ..

Is there any thing needs to be checked ..

If you are using ECC 6, go to the below path to assign balance sheet accounts to profit center:

Financial Accounting (New) - General Ledger Accounting (New) - Master Data - Profit Center - Assign Default Profit Center to Accounts.

It is at Company Code level
