I'm running Xcelsius 2008. I've created a presentation where I have 3 levels of drill-down consisting of 4 different pie charts. The only way I've found to get this drill-down to effectively recognize what I want level by level is to give long naming conventions.
For example:
Let's say I have 5 areas of business, 4 levels of priority, 8 levels of sub-business, 20 levels of further sub-business.
In order for Xcelsius to recognize what I wanted to refer to at what point for drill-down, I had to name the final columns of my spreadsheet with something that included something from every level. So, I had something like PCI High Risk NF Scottsdale for my final level. As a result, I end up with tons of columns and rows to name, and essentially I'm creating enormous spreadsheets that are hard to keep track of.
My naming conventions were something like the following...
PCI - area of business (Chart 1)
PCI High - priority (Chart 2)
PCI High NF - sub-business (Chart 3)
PCI High NF Scottsdale - further sub-business (Chart 4)
Now, as you can imagine ..I'd end up with something like
PCI Low
PCI Med
PCI High...
PCI Low NF
PCI Med NF
PCI High NF....
PCI Low NF Scottsdale
PCI Med NF Scottsdale...
As you can see, it quickly builds and builds into enormous spreadsheets...
I'm wondering if anyone knows a better way of doing this?
