Activate/Deavtivate PI documents

I want to generate all of our stock take count sheets a day in advance. Is it possible to generate them (we will use LX16) and then deactivate them in LX22. Once deactivated can i assume that there will be no errors with the normal day to day warehouse tasks?

Then once we want to start the stock take I can simply select all PI doc numbers in LX22 and activate them.

Wioll this work or can you forsee problems?

if there are open TO's then SAP will not automatically activate the PI document when executing LX16, you even cannot activate those PI docs in LX22 that contain bins with open TOs. You have to close those TOs first, either by cancelling or by confirmation.

So it is good practice to execute LX16 in advance to the inventory.

How much in advance is something that you have to find out based on the situation in your plant.

e.g. how much time you need to determine whether the transport is done and need to be confirmed or is not done and need to be cancelled, and how much time one needs to perform confirmation and cancellation.

Thanks for the input.

I am going to ensure that all TOs are completed and where 'Transports Active' appears I will return to these bins and generate the PI count records during a quiet period in our warehouses.

I have generated the PI counts using LX16 and then de-activated them in LX22. No warehouse processes are affected which is great. So I have now generated almost all of the PI counts for all out warehouses in advance which is going to save me a load of time.

All i have to do is use LX22, select all lines and activate, brilliant!
