Hi,

I am getting error when initializing the PA.

"Error when reading fiscal year variant T1 for date 31.12.2015"

Please help me to get out of this error.

How to check whether fiscal year variant T1 has maintained for date 31.12.2015.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Prabhat

Prabhat,

For checking Fiscal Year Variants in APO access:

SPRO-> Advanced Planning and Optimization->Supply Chain Planning->Demand Planning (DP)->Basic Settings->Maintain Fiscal Year Variants.

In this access the variant "T1" and see the periods maintained are in sync with your initialization horizon.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thanks Abhi for your response.

Can you Please let me know how to see till what year the variant "t1" is manitained.

I am not seeing anywhere say for eg. that variant " t1 " is maintained till 2015 or 2013

Please check table T009B to see if you get the info you need.

Hi Sajeev,

Thank you very much for your response. I am seeing in the table T009B that variant "t1" is maintained till 2014.

Does it mean that the horizon for Storage Bucket Profile i.e Start Date and End date should be in this variant range.

The end date should be 31.12.2014 or something else ?

Thanks in advance,

Prabhat

Hi Prabhat,

If you SBP is dependent on this Fiscal variant you have mentioned, then it cannot exceed the end date of the Fiscal Variant.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mani,

I dont know why when I selected the bucket "day" and "week" then it is allowing the end date to 31.12.2020 though the variant "t1" is defined only till 2014.

Earlier I had selected month, quarter along with postperiod.

we have requirement of 3 PA with different set of buckets. can I use the same SBP for all the three PA including all the possible buckets.

say for eg ---PA 1 requires - month, quarter and postperiod

PA 2 requires - day,week,month and postperiod

PA 3 requires - month and postperiod

so If I create a SBP having -- day, week, month, quarter and postperiod so can use this SBP in all the three PAs.

Your reply is very important to me.

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi Prabhat,

You can use same storage bucket profile for the three planning area.

This can be done provided the time bucket profiles used in theses planning area is a subset of storage bucket profile.

Under planning area we have planning books & data view defined which use time bucket profile.

Under time bucket (TB)profile we specify the duration for which data has to be viewed.

For e.g if u have defiine a time bucket called zmonth under it u have defined 24 months.

Then in data view there exist TB profile id for future and TB profile for past,

if for future time bucket profile,if you specify zmonth, then in that data view you will see 24 months in future horizon. Similarly you need to assign zmonth for TB profiile past then for past 24 months will be seen for past horizon.

Hi Prabhat,

As chetana has suggested, Time Bucket profile is an option. However pls note that the Time bucket profile is only a viewing option, it does not determine how the data is stored.

When you say PA requirements are in different periodicity, I am afraid we have to use different SBP only. You will have to create different SBP for different PA since they have different periodicity.

If your requirement is such that, all PAs store data at the same periodicity, say weekly (or daily which seems to be most detailed level in ur case) and it is sufficient if we just view the data in different periodicity say monthly or quarterly then we can use the Time bucket profile.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi ,

If a storage bucket is consisting of days, week, month & year, it means that it will have data stored in that specified buckets.

It will have data stored in day wise, week wise, momth wise and yeark wise bucket which can be used by various planning area. we can have PA1 using weekly & daily buckets, we can have another PA2 using monthly & weekly bucket.

We need not to defiine another storage bucket profile.

In my previou project we had used same storage bucket for 2 planning areas where in PA1 comprised of data stored in monthy & weekly while PA2 had requirement of data to be stored quarterly&yearly.

In Data view we use time bucket profile inorder to view the data, you can view the data only if it is stored in that bucket format, for eg, you can have a weekly time bucket profile in a data view only if your data is stored in week wise bucket which is possible only if in storage bucket profile weekly option is selected.

In storage bucket profile if you have data stored monthly, then you can use a time bucket profile of yearly.

But if data in SBF is stored in weekly bucket then you cannot view your data day wise.

Thus in storage bucket profile, you need to select all the options you would like your data to be stored also taking into consideration how you woul like to view your data.

Chetana

IF two PA are having the same time bucket then we need to create different SBP.

Chetana has explained very well the concept of SBP. You can use the same SBP for any number of PA's. SBP should contain all the time buckets you want to view the data in the data view/planning book. SAP Help: When you create a planning buckets profile, only use the periodicities or a subset of the periodicities that are also defined in the storage buckets profiles (see storage buckets profiles) on which the planning area is based. In a planning buckets profile, do not include a periodicity that is not in the storage buckets profile.
