Equipment & Class fields in ALV grid

How to have the Equipment Vs Class ALV report?

IHO8 should give you the information.Choose Settings > Show hide classification to view the characteristic assigned to Equipment.

This option gives the characterisitc fields but not the Class field/s (more than one class in few equipments) against the Equipment.

what class fields are you looking at? Could you explain it in detail? Normally Class is just a grouping of characteristics and its the characteristic of the object that's of interest.

If you are looking to display just the class (Multiple) associated to a piece of equipment, Have a look at transaction cl6bn and see if it satisfies your needs, else you may have to custom develop the same.

You are right, I am looking for displaying just Class assigned to the Equipment not the characteristics associated with the Class.

My selection screen will have Equipment number and/or Equipment Category. And my output should give Equipment and Class assigned to it.

I understand I may have to go for development. Now I have to search for the tables which can help me to achieve this query.

You should be able to get the assignment of Objects to Class from table KSSK.The class information is stored in KLAH. You may not be able to join the EQUI table directly with KSSK since the key field "Object" doesn't match the EQUNR field. You may have to develop a ABAP program for the same.

In fact I hvae just completed the requirement by using Logical Databse EQI, where I could find these two fields I wanted, alongwith many other associated fields.
