Release Strategy not working --- Error in classification (class class type)

Dear MM Gurus,

Requirement is to have a revised Release Strategy for an already existing strategy.

We decided to create 2 new strategies.

Hence following was done:

- New Release Group was created say P1, and attached to class FRG_EKKO and rel.obj 2

- For the new Rel. group P1, created 2 new release codes 01 and 02

- Release indicator was kept as it is

- In the release strategy, when we click on New Entries

- Release group entered as P1

- New release strategy 01

- Release code defined as 01

- Click on 'Release Prerequisites' and click on Continue

- Click on 'Release statuses' and click on Continue

- But when I click on Classification, I get an Error message 'Error in classification (class FRG_EKKO class type 032)

How do I resolve this problem?

I was able to close the issue by deleting the unnecessary old Release Strategies as under:

- Workflow assignments

- Release strategies

- Release Codes and

- Release Groups (strictly in this order)

Then I added the new Release Strategies strictly in the reverse order of above.
