Enable custom job package over UI in SAP IDM 8.0

Hi Experts,

I have created a job custom job package in IDM 8.0. Now I want to see this package over admin UI in order to run the jobs which i created under custom job package.

Is there any way to enable it over admin UI?

    Hi Saurabh,

You need to add a package constant pointing to the job. Use Data Type "Job Reference", and ensure Show in the Admin User Interface box is ticked. You can then find the Job in the Admin UI under the System Configuration tab, by selecting packages, then jobs.

As far as I am aware this method is supported by any SP, although I myself have only used it from SP3 onward.

At least up to and including SP5, standard jobs of a package are not displayed in /idm/admin => System configuration => Packages => Jobs. Up to SP5 at least, this tab is always empty. I don't know its status in SP6.

My experience is that only repository jobs are displayed in the admin UI, but not standard jobs. They're found at /idm/admin => System configuration => Repositories => Jobs.

So the obvious workaround that can be used to run jobs from /idm/admin is to create repository jobs instead of standard jobs.

Create a dummy repository type (say "JOBS"), then create a repository job for that repository type, and finally add a Repository Type Constant of type "Job Reference" to the repository type. Make that constant point at your job.

Then create an instance of the "JOBS" repository type via /idm/admin in your system. You can then run the job from the UI path mentioned above.

same as Adam, I'm running SP6 and SP4 on distinct environments and I'm able to launch jobs from the web UI, directly on the packages.
