Use Query Designer 7.x through BEx Analyzer (SAP BW 3.x Version)

Former Member

We convert the queries from 3.x to 7.x and we are using the BEx Analyzer (SAP BW Version 3.x) to run these queries.

I wish I knew a way to edit these queries with the Query Designer 7.x from the BEx Analyzer (SAP BW 3.x Version) via the Change Query View -> Change Query (Global Definition) menu.

PS: for determining the client, the workbooks are not converted from Version 3.x to 7.x.

Thanks,

Celso Lazaro

Hello celso,

Choudhary is right. This is not possible trhu BEx Analyzer 3.x

His way is the only possible.

However, I must to remind you. YOu cannot convert a Query to 7.0 version

and use this query into a Workbook 3.x

The workbook will not work.

Thank you.

Hello Edward,

Thanks for your help.

I would like to inform you that you can run query 7.x with BEx Analyzer 3.x (3.x workbook) without any problem.

We are running normally 3.x queries were converted to 7.x.

The workbook 3.x worked perfect with query 7.x.

Thank you.

Hi,

I guess this is not possible.

If you are opening thorugh 3.x anlyzer it will open 3.x query designer (not 7.x).

You may open 7.x designer by opening BEx 7.x directly and edit the query over there.

When you upgrade query from 3.x to 7.x and still using 3.x analyzer. The global definition can not be changed in 3.x.

You may change local definition by usine 3.x query designer opened thorugh 3.x Analyzer.

I hopw it will help.

Thanks,

S
