Enhancement to link tables TOA01, 02, 03

We want to store some additional attributes for specific business objects apart from the standard fields provided in the link tables TOA01, 02, 03.

Is it recommended to create a new append structure with the new Z fields and include in the TOA* tables? Or should we create a new Z link table with the required additional fields and configure it for the specific business objects? If we include append structures to these TOA* tables, what kind of impact analysis and testing should be done?

Any pointers, please let me know.

you can copy the TOA01 table to a z table and maintain that z table as the link in archive docuemnt mapping.

From above reply "As per SAP documentation, any new link table must have the dictionary structure TOAV0. So if we create a new link table with structure TOAV0, and add an APPEND structure, will it have any adverse effect? "

This is my question exactly. Has anyone answered this question?

      Thank you,
