Hi guys,

I'm using SAP 2007 SP01 PL10. I know that you can import data into a UDO using the DTW, but I can't seem to find a template for this. Can anyone help?

thanks,

Costas

Hi Costas,

If you have installed the DTW in the default path have a look at the folder " C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates\Templates\oUserObjectsMD " ;

Otherwise, if you have choosen another location to install the DTW, other than the default path, go to START\Programs\SAP Business One\Data Migration\Templates\Templates and find the folder "oUserObjectsMD".

Hope this helps!

Kind Regards

Hey thanks for the reply. I found the files (although the path has changed in PL10). These templates seem to be for creating the UDO. I have already created them. I just want to import data into the header and lines of the UDO. Where can I find a template for that?

Hi,

I just managed to created one. All you need is the recordkey and the userdefined fields in an excel sheet. The problem now is that when I select the UDO in DTW it does not show the child table of the object. Only the header. Is there something I should know?

thanks

Costas,

Now, please have your thread solved by reading the SAP Note 1353428;

It explains step by step how to create UDOs and how to import UDOs via DTW.

Hope this finally helps you!

Kind Regards

Hi Victor,

Thanks again for the quick response. I have read the note and I have already done all of this. When I select the UDO in DTW there is no child table there only the header. The note says that the child table is supposed to be displayed and it is not.

Costas,

Try to avoid reading the steps for creating or importing the UDOs presented in the SAP Note only!

There's much more information within the SAP Note such as LINKS and Related Notes. Please, go through all these resources.

A SAP Note can take you to a link or to another SAP Note. Don't base your reading only in the content of the Note. Follow the links provided there.

Hi,

It seems that you need to customize the template in DTW before trying to import. This can be done by going to Templates-> Customize Template and selecting the UDO.
