Automatic guidelines

I have a new install of Crystal Reports 11.0.0.1282 and when I extend a section down, it automatically adds guidelines into the section. If I delete a guideline it makes the section smaller. I can't find anything on how to turn this off. Can anyone help me with this?

I am using Crystal 2008 so I no longer have to do this, but in earlier versions there was a checkbox to format sections to "freeform" in either the section format or in the report options (I can not remember which). The extra guidelines will stop being added when you stretch a section. (look in the section format first)

This will help with your problem though if you move too many fields from one section to another, it may collapse to minimum size anyway.

For anyone else, the way to fix it is to click File->Options and on the Layout tab, place a check mark in the Free-Form Placement box.
