How does the data from Employee Central get into WFA on HANA? Is there a process that runs and automatically creates the fact tables and dimensions based on the code mappings we define on the data specification sheet?
Thanks,
Sundar.
Hi Sundar.
The WFA on HANA Data Factory does exactly what you describe. It runs separate queries (created or customised in the site admin) which build the necessary tables and dimensions to build the data cube the site ultimately draws upon. It refreshes this cube daily, or else as directed.
Regarding code mappings specifically, there is a dedicated Dimension Editor to maintain the hierarchy of each dimension, structural and otherwise. It's all part of the Data Factory administration.
Regards.

Thanks a lot Alex! I understand dimensions are something that is configured based on the code mapping sheet. What about the base measures? I understand these are derived from the fact tables. Are these fact tables configuration delivered out-of-the-box for employee central or should we be configuring it manually? Also, where can I find the WFA on HANA implementation guide for the Core Workforce and Mobility metrics pack?
Thanks,
Sundar.
