Allocation in the SEM-BCS

Dear All,

I have defined the new allocation method steps with fast entry function in the UCWB.

First I have made one excel table with some defined objects. Than I have copied these data with u201CCtrl+Cu201D from excel table to fields of fast entry. But I have not could copy the explicit data name with its value. The explicit data name does not appear in fast entry monitor.

Questions:

- Why can not I define the explicit data name with its value as the fast entry in the allocation method layout?

- Where can I report any defined explicit data names with its value in the UCWB?

Regards

Zsolt

Sorry, cannot help with this, since not everything is clear to me and I have no system at hand right now.

Hi Eugene,

Thanks for your answer.

It is my example.

Allocation method: ALL01

Type of trigger data: transaction data and periodic

Type of distribution data: explicit data

Key figure type: percentage rate

Fast entry: Sender item, sender functional area, receiver item, receiver functional area, trigger item, trigger functional area

It is the customizing in the ALL0:

Step Sender item Sender func. area Receiver item Receiver func. area Trigger item Trigger funct.area 1., 9000060223 M98 9000060223 50542-100 9000060223 M98

2., 9000060631 M98 9000060631 229-100 9000060631 M98

3., 9000060703 M98 9000060703 229_50542 9000060703 M98

4., 9000060710 M98 9000060710 229_50542 9000060710 M98

The receiver functional area is single selection.

Single selection Functional area

50542-100 M50542

229-100 M229

M310

M670

229_50542

M50542

M229

So I can use the explicit data. After I have saved the data from excel to SAP with fast entry, than I can set the single selection to the receiver functional area one by one. Before the save I have to give the explicit data and name (UC_MCB_TEXT ) one by one the. Then I can save the setting.

Explicit data name (UC_MCB_TEXT) Functional area Sum %

FUNC1 M50542 100 %

FUNC2 M229 30 %

M310 50%

M670 20%

FUNC3 M50542 60%

M229 40%

This is one short example. I have 200 pieces of item and 80 pieces of functional area. It means I have to set 100 pieces of allocation steps in the next budget per company. For this reason I search the good solution in the SEM-BCS system.

I have tried to open the distribution key->explicit data in the UCWB (allocation->list settings), but the system makes nothing.

My SAP system data:

SAP_BW 701 0004

SEM-BW 604 0003

The name comes directly from the master data and is thus unnecessary in the method. The display of the text/name can be included or hidden in the method.

For the spreadsheet, why not exclude the name altogether, or simply exclude this range from the values copied?

Hi Dan Sullivan,

Thanks for your answer.

But my problem is the explicit data name (UC_MCB_TEXT) and its value. It is below the allocation method -> distribution key-> in the explicit data.

I have defined new the allocation method layout. I can not choose the explicit data name and its value in this function, because these are not appearing. So I can not define in the fast entry.

After I have uploaded the additional objects as fast entry, than I have to define step by step the explicit data name and its value. It means first I have to define one name to first step. The system reads the master data type in the receiver. In my case it is the function area. If I have defined the receiver to single selection, than I can define the percentage of some function area to first step.

For example the name and its value of first step are same with second step, than I can not refer to in the step defined name and its value. I can not defined these objects as fast entry.

I would like to report this explicit data name and its value. I would like to define as fast entry in the allocation method.

It might be possible to change the method layout to provide for this.

If it is not included, the system normally defaults to 001, 002, 003, etc.

You might also consider using a reclassification instead of allocation. I find reclassifications more flexible and accomplish the same results.

Because you mentioned percentage, one approach I took for this is with a reclassification to use transactional data where the percentage is posted to a statistical account. This minimizes configuration because all that is necessary is to post the percentage to the cons unit and the reclassification is triggered.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your answer.

It is true that the reclassification function in the BCS is better. But we have to use the allocation function between the function areas. I have customized this function with fast entry, but I have to set up manually the explicit explicit data name and value. I had read the SAP help, but there is nothing about:

- the explicit explicit data name and value

- Where can I report any defined explicit data names with its value in the UCWB?

It is still recommended you use a reclassification with fast-entry layout to reclassify between functional areas.

Though a reclass is a easier in use, unfortunately, sometimes it cannot perform what an allocation may do.

Could you give an example. With the TechNames, explanations what functions they perform in the data basis (roles) and what exactly what you want in allocation.

Otherwise, phrases like 'the explicit explict data name and value' for me is not readable and understandable.
