SAP BI and BO integration

Hi Experts,

So far we are working on the BEx to create reports, now we are planning to install new BO server in our landscape.

Do we need to have each BO server for each BI system or one BO system is enough to connect to all BI systems?

While you could have one BOE server with connections to all your BW systems, you would certainly want at least dev and prod BOE sytems for the same reason you have separate BW systems. I'm not fully convinced to the value of a QA system in between dev and prod BOE, but having one does let you identify any problems with the promotion process itself, just as with Transports

Hi Kasi,

Further to the last reply, the next question is around sizing the environment. You will need to ensure that the BOBJ environment is sized correctly for the usage you expect. Depending on the amount of data that your reports return, 1 server may not be adequate for your reporting needs, especially if you are spanning multiple SAP systems.

It all depends.

One BO server may connect to multiple BI.

After installing SAP integration kit you will have to import users and roles in BO under Authentication.

There you will have to provided your SAP Systems settings.

You may prvide multiple systems setting and when you log on you will have to provide required system credentials.
