Data Entry Layout - the text disappears without a message?

Dear all,

for a Data Entry u2013 Layout in SEM-BCS I have created an infoobject Z_TEXT (CHAR 40) and have assigned this to the corresponding brakedown category. This brakedown category was then assigned to the items, which I needed in the Data Entry u2013 Layout.

In the task of the consolidation monitor I have now the opportunity to enter a text in such items with the brakedown category u201ETEXTu201C. Is the length of the entry up to 40 characters the text is kept in the cache. However, is the entry more than 40 characters long (for example 41 characters) the text disappears without a message. This is very unpleasant because the user has to enter the text again.

Furthermore if I enter more than 60 characters, I get an error message that the entry is limited to 60 characters although the infoobject Z_TEXT was defined with a character length of 40. Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.
