ML-Material period status set to "Closed" with Z_ML_SET_PP_STATUS_70

Hello ML gurus,

have question re. setting material status to closed without actually carrying out the closing entry with must_settle&must_close.

and found the SAP Note 645083 - Material period status set to "Closing Entry Completed.

We have a plant with over 1000 materials, which has forgotten to be included in last 4 months ML closing, altough with active ML setting and we would like to therefore explore the usage of status seting.

Do you have any experience with the program Z_ML_SET_PP_STATUS_70, especially in production environment and could you please comment on the suggestion in this OSS note saying that

"Note that this procedure is only recommended after consulting SAP Development."

Hi Nuran,

If you know that you will not need the results of material ledger of the months you skipped, and if you don't have the WIP revaluation in actual costing active, it is save to use the program for the purpose you describe, even in a productive environment.
