Connection between S/4HANA and HANA XSA

Hi all,

one general question:

Which ways exist to connect HANA XSA hosted Java applications to the S/4HANA core.

I am aware of the following possibilities:

  1. Create HTTP Destination in S/4HANA, Create proxy ODATA Service with SEGW which points to the HTTP Endpoint. The proxy ODATA is generated by the Gateway. Requirement is basic authentification on the HANA XSA application side.
  2. Use SAP Dispatcher which routes calls from S/4HANA to XSA

However disadvantages the two solution is that we have to use basic authentification on the HANA XSA side. Is possible to use OAuth2 and somehow sync the user between S/4HANA and XSA.

I know with the SAP Cloud Platform principal propagation to S/4HANA with business users is supported. You can create a trust via Cloud Connector. The user mapping can be done with the transaction EXTID_DN.

Is there a way to archieve this also with XSA and S/4HANA on an on-premise infrastructure?

Best regards,

Manjinder
