Assiging a position to Org Unit in mass upload

Hi,

I am creating Org units using PPOM transaction where i can create Many org units at a time. NOw i need to assign positions to these org units? is there any way to mass upload positions and assign to these Org units?

I have arrount 1020 Org Units to create. I created all through PPOM at a time. But to assign positions, i have to navigate to each Org unit to assign a position. Is there an easy way for this? I mean Create an Org unit and create a position at t the same time.

PS: This is for mass creation.

Assumeing you have created the Positions

U can Record the asssigment of one Position to the org unit in the Recording of the LSMW through the tcode PP01 or PP02

and upload the data

How do i record the assignments? Could you please provide the LSMW details.. any example will be much appreciated..

Do the Recording for PP01Tcode for the assigment of the Position with Organisational Unit with relationship A 003

For the LSMW check the previous threads

Make the Template according to that

Create one LSMW program. Do the recording through PP02.

Here the values will be:

Plan Version : Whatever u have created or 01

Org Unit Id:

Infotype : 1001 (Relationship)

Subtype: A003/B003 (belongs to/ incorporates)

Start Date

End Date

Planning Status : 1

In the next screen :

Type of Object Type : S ( in ur case)

ID of Object Type

You need to upload data in following fields

1) PLVAR

2) OTYPE

3) SEARK

4) INFTY

5) SUBTY

6) ISTAT

7) BEGDA

You can do through LSMW......in that you have to do recording for transaction PP01(If already you have created positions &Org units) ......Select Object type Position and enter One position....select Realtionships infotype......click on Create.....maintain dates and trelationship A003 and enter type of related object Org unit and enter which Org unit this position belogs to.

Same you have to prepare upload file with all the input parameters in the Infotype.

Please give me the LSMW details and do solve my doubts regarding this.(some may be stupid)

1. By recording do you mean a BDC recording?

2. Say i created Org Unit 1000002 and Postion 50000003. Simply with Subtype as: A003 how can i say Postion 50000003 should be under Org Unit 1000002?

Ans: It's a First step of LSMW, where we do the recording.

2. Say i created Org Unit 1000002 and Postion 50000003. Simply with Subtype as: A003 how can i say Postion 50000003 should be under Org Unit 1000002?

Ans: A003 means belongs to.

For every relationship in OM this is the naming convention.

There is fourteen steps in LSMW.
