Reporting on Master Data From and To

Hello Experts,

We are trying to report on the From and To dates of a time dependent infoobject 0FUND. We have turned the infoobject on as a dataprovider but we dont see how you report on the two dates. When we try adding 0DATETO to the attributes tab we get an error saying "attribute cannot be used with time-dependent attribute". Next i tried mapping in a Z infobject but I could not get the object to populate with the Date To data. What is the trick to getting these date fields in a query?

Thanks,

TMS

You can't forcebly add Date to and Date from attributes to the MD. when you mark it as time dependent masterdata they will come automatically while you create transformations you will see them .. goto RSD1 - enter your object - under attrs tab - detail/nav ... you will see

The problem is I do not see them under the attributes tab. They are definitely not there and I get errors when i add them. I checked the Funds Center attribute which has time dependency as well and the dates are not attributes there either. When i browse the data i see Date To and From but that doesnt allow me to include them in a query. We are using transfer rules and i can see the dates are mapped there but that seems to be where it ends. Any ideas?

You will not see them in QD .. You have to specify the 'Keydate' in Query properties So the result will fetch from that period.. if you don';t specify the keydate it will take system date by default

My report requirement is to display these two dates in the output. Can you think of a way to display these dates in our report? The only other thing i can think of is to append these two dates to the master data datasource and bring them in as Z objects.....but I'm not sure the system will allow that either. I need to test it.

      Hi,

Create Z objects for both dates. Create a Z object for master data objects "Fund".

Add these two Z objects as attributes in master data Z object.

Create as infoset with Orignal master data object and Z master data object.

      Use Infoset to create report.

      I hope it will work.

      Thanks,

      S
