  • Dear Rantest,

I simply second the suggestion of Jagdeep Singh Choudhary , it's the most important field for reporting. Just consider the Hire-achy of SAP i.e.

    • Material Type
    • Material Group
    • Material Code

Same goes with Service although there is no material type but it starts from Service Group where you can pick GL automatically from by the setting of Service Group. It's the standard best practice

    • Service Group
    • Service Master Data

    Hi Ratnesh,

Material group is mandatory for all types of procurement, if material code is used it will be copied from material master.

    Hi Ratnesh

Material groups in case of material determined from material master and for service material group requirement is enforced with use of item category D. Even for without material codes materials, material group is mandatory. This is mainly driven by field keys assigned to your PO document type. if you are using different PO type for service procurement then you can create new field key copy of NBF then assign that field key to your document type. New field key you may able to make it optional,

I would recommend not to remove material group as it is very important for reporting and spend analytics if you have define material groups for future use.

    Thanks,

    Jagdeep
