Add a new column in a Input Schedule

Hello,

In a Input Schedule using EVDRE I'm being asked about adding a new column that has a percentaje value, which is going to be used to multiply its value with the accounts displayed for some months.

I know that I can do the multiply using a Scriptlogic, but my issue is how to add a new column that doesn't exist in BPC inside a EVDRE Input Schedule, is it possible ?

Thanks for taking a look at this one.

Regards,

Rodrigo

Let me see if I understand the question. You have an EVDRE, where I assume just the rows are set to expand, and that the data in columns is not expanding? Columns are months? So the Data range is a block of Months and Accounts.

If this is true, you do have a couple of options.

- Adding the column before the data range, in a column is the 1st place that you could add a place for adding a percentage, but not sending it to the DB. The only issue with that approach is not being able to ever document the value used for the caluculation for the various intersections sent to the DB.

- Add the column after the Data range.

- As mentioned, you can add a blank column header member used in the report if the columns are not used in an expand process.

- Otherwise, add a second memberset and range for just the percentages, realizing that you need at least 2 columns for the second set.

If you want to store the percentages used in the calculations, you will need to find another dimension, such as datasrc,on the column col key range to send the percents to a location such as, for every account on the ROW, by DATASRC=PCTINPUT and TIME=YEAR.INP. This will allow for storing the percent used for each account in case you want to see it again in a schedule.

But those are just a few options. Hope this helps.

Hi,

There is no issue with that you can surely add a column with blank column dimension but make sure it is also in the column expansion range.

As you are making an Input schedule, ou wont be able to send data from that particular column. if you want to send data then you should have a column dimension.

Hope it helps
