XI 4.0 Server (Beta), SIA not appearing neither its getting uninstalled

Hi,

We installed BOBJ Enterprise XI 4.0 Server (Win 64-bit) beta on a Windows Server 2003, Enterprise x64 Edition, SP2 machine.

Already had BOBJ XI 3.1 Server & Crystal Reports 2008 installed & working perfectly fine on this m/c.

1. The installation finished successfully. BUT SIA is not at all appearing in CCM. Only Tomcat and BW Publisher Service is appearing.

Checked in Task Manager, cms.exe32 & sia.exe32 are running and services.msc console has BOE120MySQL listed & running there. But I believe all these 3 entries are w.r.t already present & working XI 3.1 Server as they would appear earlier also. Moreover setup wizard named MySQL database as BOE140 this time with XI 4.0 installation.

Also, could successfully launch login screens for CMC & BI LaunchPad, but entering login credentials returns No CMS found error.

PS: Did stop XI 3.1 Servers at the time of installation, but had'nt stopped BOE120MySQL service.

2. Now when I am trying to Change/Remove SAP BOBJ XI 4.0 from Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, I am getting this error-

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\S...

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Am not sure if this is some registry got corrupted problem or what which is not allowing to either Repair or Uninstall the program.

I also think these might not necessarily be XI 4.0 installation issues. Might also be the generic issues with having 2 BOE server installations on same m/c.

Requesting to please advise.

Many thanks.

Regards,

Nirmit

You are better off posting this on the collaboration workspace for the Beta since most people don't have access to this release yet.

Sounds like this is a known issue in Windows already.

AIX/Linux doesn't have these issues, that's my preference.
