SAP Netweaver Gateway

Hi,

I have come across SAP Netweaver Gateway, as I understood based on my research that this would enable to establish a connection between SAP ERP and Other tools like PowerBI, Python, Excel etc. to perform the desired analysis.

I am willing to deploy this functionality in my organization and planning to approach the heads and authority in my Org for the same.

I need help in understanding the risk of using such a gateway in terms of data privacy. Perhaps I don't fully understand the capability of the gateway, but can SAP ERP data of the company may get exposed outside org due to such gateway.

Are there companies across the globe using such gateway? A few white-papers or article will be helpful. Thanks in adavnce

It is the same with all connectivity options. You have to secure them appropriately especially if you would allow access from the internet to services that run on premises.

SAP Gateway is mainly used as the Provider for OData Services used by SAP Fiori. Read more on this in Blogs published by my colleague jocelyn.dart
