par file of LightMasthead iview

Hi,

I want to edit the Lightmasthead iview in NWDS, for this i need the par file of Lightmasthead iview.

Do we use the same par file com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par for both Default framework page and Light frame work page?

If so no problem i know the location of it and i can download it but If it is different please let me know the name of the par file of Light Masthead ivew and its location

Hi Pradeep,

According to me, the par file is same but we have a different component for light masthead in the par file. You can change the component which is having the code for light masthead.

Thankyou for your reply.

I got a query here fine once i do the changes to the par file if i deploy it with the same file name it will change the standard, ofcourse if i need the standard masthead i will resotr it through the backup file but if i want to deploy it with a different name ho i can add it to framework page and if i add it to framework page once i edit the master rule and assign the desktop which got the theme and the above framework will the changes will be shown in Masthead.

Please let me know and also let me know which one is the best way whether to load it with same file name or different.

If you have done any customization to the SAP statndard par files then rename it with your own name and deploy it.

then use that par file in your framework page and assign to your desktop and so on..

This is the standard way of doing. If you do like this , you will not get any problem duriong SP upgrade or version upgrade.

Otherise if you deploy with statndard name then every upgrade of SP, hte changes will reset and you will get SAP standard masthead.

Hi Pradeep ,

You should always deploy it with a different name (say with the same name as your project) . Now you can create an iview out of the deployed par file by selecting "Portal Component" while creation . Add this iview to your framework page , make it visible , make the standard masthead iview invisible (do not remove it) and adjust the location of the custom iview from page layout section ( should be above TLN) . Assign it to the desktop and test , your changes will definetly get reflected .
