SAP Waste and Recycling Management

Is "SAP Waste and Recycling Management " part of core ECC?

is "SAP Waste Management and Recycling" separate module we need to activate in ECC?

if yes, and if we want to implement this, what are the options and dependencies?

If it is part of ECC, do we need to activate any business extensions and perform extensive regression testing?

Of "SAP Waste and Recycling Management" part of other SAP industry specific solution? if yes, which SAP industry solution?

Any help is appreciated.

Dear C.B.,

SAP Waste and Recycling is part of the deployment i.e. technically part of the default delivery of ERP 6.0 and therefore already technically delivered into every ERP 6.0.

It's part of this Product Availability Matrix (PAM) entry for example: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap/support/pam?hash=pvnr%3D73555000100900000247%26pt%3Dg%257Cd

Its not activated by default - so industry switch ISU_UTIL_WASTE and other W&R specific business functions need to be activated. Compatibility with other required business functions should be checked upfront - for instance public sector (PSCD) is such incompatible functionality.

Due to that, SAP is sometimes using the term "extension" even if it is technically not a separate add-on.

To avoid misunderstandings, I'm referring to the functionality that is documented here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/611aa90786d3433b8e1f9be5ddb6a8c1/6.18.15/en-US/2066ce53118d4308e10000000... This W&R functionality is for waste collection companies (and not for waste producers). W&R inside S/4HANA is not the replacement of the former EHS WM - bother are different customer segments of SAP.

EHS WM is a different solution managed by different organizations inside SAP. EHS WM - the ERP 6.0 variant as well as S/4HANA discussions - are a different solutions for different SAP customer segments. The target groups of EHS Waste Management are waste generators. I will pass you to the right colleagues if you send me an email. Docu of EHS WM could be found here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/6069358a5ccc4133b20563bc59e957fc/6.05.19/en-US - you see the differences if you check both links.

sorry for delays - I was scanning all questions and found this unanswered one question a few minutes ago:

Q: Is "SAP Waste and Recycling Management " part of core ECC?
A: Do you mean SAP Waste and Recycling (W&R) or do you mean SAP EHS Waste Management (EHS WM)? The first one W&R is the industry solution for waste collection companies, the second one EHS WM is the solution for waste generators. Both are part of ECC - both need in ECC some separate "engine" licenses.

Q: is "SAP Waste Management and Recycling" separate module we need to activate in ECC?
A: SAP W&R requires separate "industry switch" ISU_UTIL_WASTE. The link to the help in S/4HANA is here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/7113856e409647838af7891e1429b807/2020.000/en-US/eae8db55e0c88809e1000000... - please don't hesitate to discuss with me if it make sense to activate it in ECC or if a brownfield migration before the activate is the more recommended approach.

Q: if yes, and if we want to implement this, what are the options and dependencies?
A: Please contact me by email to discuss this question.

Q: If it is part of ECC, do we need to activate any business extensions and perform extensive regression testing?
A: Please contact me by email to discuss this question.

Q: Of "SAP Waste and Recycling Management" part of other SAP industry specific solution? if yes, which SAP industry solution?
A: SAP W&R is part of ISU_UTIL_WASTE. Please contact me by email to discuss this question.

Dear Raik

regarding:

"SAP Waste and Recycling Management "

My understanding is different. First we need to define "what is ECC"... (quite tricky term !)

According to my understanding: "SAP Waste and Recycling Management " is not part of "ECC" but is an "add on".

According to this link:

https://help.sap.com/doc/acd5ba39aadb4678a6d4c0424a5551ec/6.00.29/en-US/Chapter_40__IS-U_SAP_Utiliti...

Here it is called an "extension". So if this correct: then you are right. Then one need "only" to activate the solution.

Can you please confirm this understanding finally?

On the other hand: with S/4 HANA (accorsing to many discussions running here) we will get a follow up solution of EHS Waste Management.

Can you please try do describe: what will be the difference between "SAP Waste and Recycling Management " and the new solution (follower of EHS Waste Management) so that it is "clear": what solution should be used for which business case?

Thanks.

Hello

never have had the need to work with this module. To my knowledge: answer is: No. It is not part of core ECC. The component is called "IS-U-WA" and it is an "add on"

For installation: just check SAP Marketplace. I am pretty sure that you will find documents regarding "installation" etc.,

Please execute a "google" search. You will find many places describing this software
