GL determination in case of account symbols in bank reconciliation.

Hi,

I have observed that in assignment of account symbols to GL accounts +++++++ is followed by digit ex. 1 or 2 or any. Just want to know at the time of processing of bank reconciliation how account symbols find GL account. i.e. how +++++++ sign is replaced by actual GL account number.

Instead of ++++++ can i write complete GL number. Will it make any difference?
