How to categorize countries (e.g. Egypt - Africa)

Former Member

Hello,

We want to categorize country codes by region.

e.g. Korea - Asia, Egypt - Africa

I know that table T005 does not have any fields for this purpose.

So we think all we can do is create a new add-on table.

But the best way is addind field to T005.

Please teach us how to categorize!

Thank you in advance.

Best regard.

Hi,

Unfortunately there are no option for UDFs for Countries. So, you should use given field. The best possible is the "Code for Reports" field. But, it only 3 digit. So you should create another UDT that explain "description" of code in the countries table.

Create FS in that field referring value in the UDT so that user only choose the correct code.

Cheers

Hi Emma,

Please close your thread since your question is not related to SAP Business One

Territory could be set up under Admin - Setup menu. You may create different levels territories to meet your need.

However, when I read your another thread, I found you may not use SAP Business One. Please confirm. If that is true, please close your thread and post it on a proper forum.

Hi Emma,

If it is for SBO, please indicate in your next response what it is that you are trying to do - what is the categorizing for. That would help determine what solution may serve you best.
