Deatils of Planning Area

Hi All,

We have the option to load data from infocube to Planning Area. Please let me know how to know the related infocube if I know only Planning Area.

For example--- I know planning area "X" so how to know the infocube related with "X" and how to see the data loaded in Planning Area.

Thanks,

Prabhat

    Hi Prabhat,

I don't think there is a way to find out the cube from which you want to load the planning area, or the cube which had been created to load the values into the planning area.

basically, one way to idently is to maintain a good naming convetion while developing objects. For example, if you are loading history from the cube, you could maintain the description of the cube accordingly so that when you are trying to load data from the cube, you are aware which cube you want to load the data into.

And once have identified the correct cube, you can store the same as a variant so that you don't have to go through the trouble of finding the correct cube.

Coming to the second query, of viewing the data in the planning area. The same can be done through the planning books only. You can create a planning book, load the relevant characteristics and see the data that has flown into the the planning area from the cube.

    I hope this helps.

    Rgds, Sandeep

    Hi,

This option is for loading data from Infocube to Planning area.

The scenario this could be used is like, you have history data in your history cube and want to load it to a certain KF in your planning area, then you would be using this. No infocube comes created with the planning area, so if you want to load a certain data, you will have to either build a cube, load data into it thru BI and then load that data into planning area.

For your second question, you can view the data in planning area thru planning book/dataview.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
